If you’re anything like us, then the announcement regarding a new Indiana Jones movie is music to your ears! Notwithstanding the fact that Crystal Skull frankly wasn’t that great, and George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have a tendency to over-revise our childhoods with special editions, prequels, and walkie-talkies, it’s still hard to not be excited about another Harrison Ford starring Indiana Jones film in 2019!
Alright, catharsis over some of Lucas and Spielberg’s more questionable choices aside, every film genius creates a stinker from time to time, so audiences will likely be forgiving.
Here are some ways to celebrate Indiana Jones’ return to the silver screen that you can do in the next three years before the next film drops!
Watch The Films
This one may seem fairly obvious, but a great way to get yourself prepared for the new films is to revisit the old movies. Quick! Which are the best ones. Oh, so sorry, we were looking for Raiders and The Last Crusade. OK, these are, of course personal preferences, but it’s hard to beat the original film, and the one that made Indy’s dad a Professorial James Bond.
Get The Hat!
It’s hard to imagine Indiana Jones without his hat, and the films have shown that he will risk life and limb to save it. Don’t you want something that cool?
Besides, if you’re not even a little excited by the prospect of wearing one while watching the movies (at home of course, because people that wear hats in movie theaters are the worst), then congratulations, you’re definitely an adult, but you’re about as much fun as a pair of sensible slacks.
Travel To Some Of The Locations!
If there is one thing that the Indiana Jones films are known for, it’s the variety of exotic locales. Why not check out some of these great places? Venice is a great place to find romance, and act out some of the more enjoyable scenes from Last Crusade!
Speaking of that movie, you can check out Petra, Jordan and this famous site carved into the edifice; just don’t expect to encounter any 600-year-old knights!
Or check out Old Cairo, where you can still find well-preserved old buildings, and of course Ancient Egyptian monuments in Giza and elsewhere!
Of course, the real Indiana Jones film Raiders of the Lost Ark was actually filmed in Tunis, Tunisia, so maybe check that out too.
